Prescription Lifestyle Website Project Live!

I’m very happy to announce the launch of the website of Justyna Sanders, MD.  She contracted with me last year to produce a body of still and video content for her brand launch of her service called Prescription Lifestyle (http://prescriptionlifestyle.com).  From a background in medical training, she provides support and information about healthy living to her subscribers.

The job was an interesting and demanding one which required that we scale production to fit a still photo shoot for a complete content library as well as a dialog driven video into a single day of shooting.  I brought out my A-game crew and we managed, between unpredictable weather, several locations and a blistering hot sun to get it all done.

I’m very happy with the final product.  The website is beautiful and Justyna’s brand is off to a solid start with powerful visuals and a beautiful design!

Retired - an Exploration of the History of Mountain Sports

I’m very honored to have had my work featured with the recent B-Rad
photography exhibit in Sonoma County, California.  I displayed prints
next to some truly inspiring artists and got to share in some wonderful
conversations and new friendships.

My work, titled “Retired” is an exploration of the history of
design in mountain sports and features climbing hardware from decades
past.

After two days of shooting and many weeks of retouching, proofing
and finally printing I decided that I wanted to present the work in a
way that echoed the spirit of handmade exploration that brought this
technology to life in the first place:  each frame was hand built by me
and the prints were hung raw from metal clips inspired by the darkroom
developing process.

I have to give a shout out to Harrison Hood, the eccentric Sonoma based collector of all this vintage climbing equipment.  He toured me through his epic library of old technology and let me borrow a number of great pieces for this project (I also bought a few that I just couldn’t resist adding to my own personal horde).  This project did a lot to open my eyes to the history of the sport I love so much.  Keep your eyes peeled for the next project inspired by this antiquity :)
